Job Description

The appointed Data Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining the company's data infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions for processing, storing, and analyzing large volumes of data, thereby supporting the company's operational and analytical objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Build Data Pipelines: Develop and implement efficient and reliable ETL/ELT (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ingest data from multiple sources.
• Manage Data Infrastructure: Contribute to the design and architecture of data storage systems, including Data Warehouses and Data Lakes, ensuring performance, security, and accessibility.
• Ensure Data Quality and Integrity: Establish and implement standards for data quality monitoring, validation, and discrepancy resolution to ensure accuracy and consistency of information.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Product Development teams to understand data requirements and provide the necessary infrastructure for advanced analytics and business intelligence applications.
• Optimization and Automation: Monitor the performance of data systems, identify improvement areas, and automate repetitive tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
• Process Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for data system designs, pipelines, and operational procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

Technical Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven hands-on experience (typically 3-5 years) in a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL. Knowledge of Java or Scala is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and processing, such as AWS (Redshift, Glue, S3), Microsoft Azure (Data Factory, Synapse), or Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow).
• Deep understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, techniques, and tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, NiFi, dbt).
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Familiarity with the Apache Hadoop ecosystem and frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hive) is a strong advantage.
• Understanding of data architecture principles and scalability.
