Job Description and Responsibilities
The successful candidate for this role will hold a strategic country-level position, serving as the primary authority responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive Health, Safety, and Loss Prevention strategy for ENNISMORE's operations in Saudi Arabia. The focus will be on ensuring a safe environment for both guests and employees while optimally protecting the company's assets and brand reputation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the group-wide safety culture within KSA, ensuring full compliance with local Saudi regulations (such as Civil Defense and SFDA regulations) as well as international standards and industry best practices.
- Developing, reviewing, and periodically updating HSE and Loss Prevention policies and procedures, ensuring their understanding and implementation across all hotels and properties.
- Designing and executing effective, ongoing training programs for all employee levels to enhance safety awareness and emergency response preparedness.
- Conducting comprehensive, regular site inspections and audits to assess risks, identify deficiencies, and ensure the implementation of corrective preventive actions.
- Leading investigations into accidents and serious incidents, determining root causes, and preparing detailed reports with recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Managing the Loss Prevention program, including asset risk assessment, security procedure review, and collaboration with other departments like Operations and Human Resources.
- Acting as the main point of contact with relevant government and regulatory bodies related to safety and civil defense in the Kingdom.
- Preparing and presenting regular performance reports to senior management on safety KPIs, incident statistics, and compliance status.
Qualifications and Requirements
ENNISMORE is looking for a candidate with deep experience and a proven professional track record in safety management, preferably within the hospitality, tourism, or retail sectors.
Essential Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical, Industrial), Environmental Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized studies are a plus.
- A recognized international professional certification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP) is highly desirable and often required.
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of practical experience in HSE and Loss Prevention management, with proven experience in leadership positions.
- Prior work experience within Saudi Arabia and a deep understanding of its specific safety and civil defense laws and systems is essential.
- Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written. Proficiency in Arabic is a strong advantage.
- Exceptional leadership and managerial skills with the ability to influence and drive change across multiple management levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prepare reports and presentations for senior executive levels.
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (e.g., OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001) and risk management principles.
- Willingness and ability to travel between various company locations within the Kingdom.
