Job Overview

The Director of Sales & Distribution will play a pivotal role in leading and developing the sales and distribution strategies for a Marriott International hotel or cluster of hotels within Saudi Arabia. This leader will be responsible for driving the sales team to achieve financial targets, enhancing the brand's market share, and building strong relationships with key partners and clients. This role operates in a fast-paced environment requiring a deep understanding of the hospitality sector and modern trends in both digital and traditional distribution channels.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead and develop the comprehensive sales and distribution strategy in alignment with the overall business objectives of the hotel/cluster.
  • Manage, coach, and direct the sales team to achieve and exceed set revenue and sales targets.
  • Analyze market performance, identify growth opportunities, and develop action plans to capitalize on them.
  • Manage and develop relationships with key distribution channels, including Global Distribution Systems (GDS), Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), corporate accounts, and local travel agencies.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of reservation and revenue management systems to maximize yield.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and analysis on sales performance to senior management.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Revenue, and Operations departments to ensure a seamless and profitable customer experience.
  • Represent the brand at industry events and build a strong professional network.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Tourism & Hospitality, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience of 7-10 years in hospitality sales or commercial sales, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role (Manager level or above).
  • In-depth knowledge of Global Distribution Systems (e.g., Amadeus, Sabre) and hospitality distribution channels.
  • Strong understanding of revenue management principles and pricing strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team towards ambitious goals.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed strategic decisions.
  • Flexibility and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-changing international environment.
