Estate Fleet In-Charge in Muscat, Oman

A leading and reputable player in the Omani market is seeking to hire an Estate Fleet In-Charge for its operations in Muscat. This position presents an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals in the field of vehicle fleet management and operations within an integrated real estate or service environment. The workplace is located in the capital city, Muscat, the vibrant economic heart of the Sultanate of Oman.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will bear full responsibility for the field and administrative supervision of the company's vehicle fleet related to estate management and projects. Key duties will include:

  • Operational Supervision: Direct oversight of fleet drivers and vehicles, ensuring daily tasks are executed with high efficiency according to set schedules and professional standards.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Planning and periodic monitoring of preventive and corrective maintenance for all vehicles, ensuring compliance with road safety requirements and Sultanate regulations. This includes maintaining accurate maintenance logs and tracking expenses.
  • Logistics Management: Planning and organizing vehicle routes to optimize fuel consumption and reduce downtime, ensuring vehicles are ready for any estate-related or maintenance emergency requests.
  • Warehouse and Inventory Management: Responsibilities may extend to supervising fleet-related inventory such as spare parts, tires, and oils, ensuring their availability in appropriate quantities.
  • Reporting and Budgeting: Preparing periodic reports on fleet performance, consumption rates, operational costs, and submitting them to senior management. Contributing to setting the department's budget and adhering to it.
  • Compliance: Ensuring all vehicles possess valid licenses and insurance, and that all drivers hold valid and appropriate driving licenses.

Qualifications and Core Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A diploma or bachelor's degree in fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or any related discipline. Significant and proven practical experience may compensate for formal education.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in a similar role (Fleet In-Charge, Vehicle Supervisor, Logistics Coordinator) with experience in team supervision. Experience in the real estate sector or major service companies is a distinct advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Practical knowledge of basic automotive mechanics and maintenance systems. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) for data analysis and report preparation.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and supervisory abilities. Effective communication skills (verbal and written). Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Other Requirements: A valid driving license in the Sultanate of Oman. Knowledge of Omani transport and safety regulations.
