Job Description
The marine division of PLC Contracting is looking for a highly skilled Excavator Operator with extensive experience in underwater rock operations. The successful candidate will operate heavy excavators used for breaking and removing marine rocks, preparing foundation bases for various marine projects including docks, ports, and bridges. This position requires advanced technical skills and the ability to work in challenging marine environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy hydraulic excavators in marine work sites
- Execute rock breaking and removal operations with precision and safety
- Work according to engineering plans and project technical specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on the excavator and ensure operational readiness
- Adhere to occupational health and safety standards in the marine work environment
- Collaborate with the team to ensure tasks are completed on schedule
- Report any malfunctions or technical issues to the direct supervisor
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating excavators in marine rock works
- Valid heavy equipment operation certification
- Good knowledge of rock types and handling methods
- Ability to work under pressure and in varying weather conditions
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Good physical fitness and ability to work long hours
