Job Overview

The Forest Officer will be a key member of NG Company's environmental management and sustainability team. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for overseeing vegetation cover, green areas, and environmental projects managed or supported by the company in the Al Jahra region. Operating within vital sectors, NG Company requires this role to ensure compliance with local and international environmental standards and to bolster its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Supervision & Planning: Oversee afforestation operations, maintenance of green spaces, and management of nurseries for local tree species.
• Monitoring & Assessment: Monitor plant health, diagnose diseases or pest infestations, and propose and implement integrated pest management plans.
• Resource Management: Contribute to the management of water resources for irrigation and propose solutions for conservation.
• Environmental Planning: Participate in developing and implementing sustainable environmental management plans for various projects.
• Inspection & Compliance: Conduct regular field inspections to ensure all activities comply with Kuwaiti environmental laws and regulations.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed periodic technical reports on the status of environmental projects, risks, and achievements.
• Awareness & Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teams and provide necessary awareness on environmental best practices.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Forestry, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
• Experience: Proven practical experience in forestry management, green space management, or environmental management. Previous experience in a similar Gulf region environment is highly preferred.
• Technical Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of native and climate-adaptive plant and tree species for Kuwait.
  • Strong understanding of local environmental laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using GIS software and geospatial information systems is a strong advantage.
• Personal Skills:
  • Leadership skills and the ability to supervise field teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to work in field conditions.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and reporting skills.
• License: A valid driver's license is preferred.
