Job Description
Ibn Khaldun Almadaen Engineering Consultants is seeking a qualified HSE Engineer to join their team in Muscat, Oman. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing health, safety, and environmental standards across infrastructure projects, with a specific focus on roads or water/wastewater projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HSE management plans for project sites.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with local and international safety standards.
- Identify potential hazards at work sites (especially in roads or water/wastewater projects) and establish control measures.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and environmental near-misses, and prepare comprehensive reports with recommendations.
- Train workers and supervisors on safety practices and emergency response procedures.
- Review and update safety documentation including Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Liaise with local regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with Omani laws and regulations.
- Prepare periodic HSE performance reports for senior management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or equivalent) with a recognized HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA).
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in HSE roles, with specific experience in roads or water/wastewater projects.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken); Arabic is a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in multicultural environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management systems.
- Certifications: Professional HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH International General Certificate) are mandatory or highly preferred.
- Location: Candidates currently in Oman or able to relocate immediately are preferred.
