Job Description
We are seeking an experienced HSE Officer with a proven track record in high-rise building projects to join our team in the United Arab Emirates. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with occupational health and safety standards on construction sites, with a specific focus on the unique challenges posed by high-rise projects such as working at heights, crane operations, and structural risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures on site.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Oversee the implementation of Safe Work Procedures, especially for high-risk activities like working at heights, scaffolding, and lifting operations.
- Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents, perform root cause analysis, and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and submit periodic safety reports to senior management.
- Organize and conduct safety awareness training sessions for workers and supervisors.
- Ensure the availability and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to integrate safety considerations into work planning and execution.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HSE, with demonstrable experience in high-rise building projects.
- Recognized professional certifications such as NEBOSH (IGC or Diploma), IOSH Managing Safely, or OSHA.
- Excellent knowledge of local and international safety standards (e.g., OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001).
- Strong communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
