Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and analyze client financial statements in strict accordance with IFRS, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Provide technical accounting advice and consultation to clients on complex IFRS interpretations and applications.
- Assist clients with the transition process from local GAAP to IFRS reporting standards.
- Review and assess clients' existing accounting policies and practices, recommending improvements for IFRS compliance.
- Participate in financial audit engagements, ensuring adherence to international standards.
- Prepare supporting financial reports and analyses for audit procedures and decision-making processes.
- Stay continuously updated on new amendments, interpretations, and updates to IFRS standards and assess their impact on client operations.
- Collaborate closely with other service lines within EY to deliver a seamless, integrated client service experience.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. A Master's degree or professional certification is a strong advantage.
- A recognized professional accounting qualification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), or CA (Chartered Accountant) is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven practical experience in accounting or external audit, with a strong focus on IFRS application.
- In-depth, detailed knowledge and understanding of the current IFRS framework and standards.
- Prior experience working at one of the "Big Four" accounting firms (EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG) or a reputable financial consultancy is a significant advantage.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Arabic is a beneficial asset in the Qatari market.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain a high standard of work quality.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and familiarity with advanced accounting and audit software.
