UNIKAI Foods P.J.S.C is seeking to hire a skilled IT Application Support Engineer to be based in its Dubai office, United Arab Emirates. Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Application Support Engineer will be stationed within the IT department and will be primarily responsible for providing technical and proactive support for a suite of software applications used across various company divisions. Key responsibilities are expected to include:

  • Technical & Operational Support: Providing Level 1 and Level 2 support to end-users regarding software application issues, diagnosing faults, and resolving them in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Maintenance & Monitoring: Monitoring the performance of key applications and ensuring their availability meets agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Performing routine maintenance and update tasks.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with software development teams, IT infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Operations, Finance) to understand requirements and escalate complex issues.
  • Documentation & Training: Creating and updating technical documentation, user manuals, and solution logs. Assisting in training new users on how to effectively use applications.
  • Incident & Request Management: Utilizing IT Service Management (ITSM) systems like Jira Service Desk or ServiceNow to log, track, categorize, and close incoming incidents and service requests.
  • Testing & Deployment: Participating in testing new or updated applications before deployment to the production environment. Assisting in planning and executing application upgrade processes.

Qualifications and Core Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Work Experience: Proven hands-on experience of 3 to 5 years in application support or technical support within a corporate environment. Experience in the manufacturing, supply chain, or FMCG/food sector is a strong advantage.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of database systems (e.g., SQL) and the ability to write basic queries for problem investigation.
    • Practical knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
    • Experience in supporting enterprise applications such as ERP systems (knowledge of SAP or Oracle is a significant plus), CRM systems, or Supply Chain Management (SCM) systems.
    • Knowledge of basic networking concepts and connectivity troubleshooting.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English.
    • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users in a clear, simple manner.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team spirit and the ability to work collaboratively.
