Job Description

The appointed Laboratory Technologist will perform a vital range of operational and technical tasks within the laboratory department, directly contributing to patient diagnosis and treatment. You will be responsible for conducting medical tests with high precision and adhering strictly to safety protocols and international standards.

Key Expected Responsibilities:

• Perform biochemical, microbiological, immunological, hematological, and histological analyses according to standard procedures.
• Operate, maintain, and perform initial calibration of advanced laboratory equipment and instruments (e.g., auto-analyzers, microscopes).
• Prepare biological samples (blood, urine, tissues) for examination while ensuring safe and proper handling.
• Accurately record results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and report findings to senior technologists or physicians.
• Adhere to all infection control, biosafety, and medical waste management protocols.
• Contribute to quality assurance by verifying the accuracy of results and ensuring they meet established standards.
• Maintain a high level of organization and cleanliness in the laboratory work environment.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a related field from a recognized university.
• A mandatory prerequisite is a valid license from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention or the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) as a Medical Laboratory Practitioner.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of practical experience in a diagnostic medical laboratory within a hospital or large healthcare center.
• Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) will be an added advantage.

Personal & Professional Skills:

• Extreme accuracy and strong attention to detail in work.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient knowledge of the English language (reading, writing, speaking). Knowledge of Arabic will be an advantage.
• Commitment to the highest standards of professional ethics and medical confidentiality.
