Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, secure, and efficient operation of core technical infrastructure. Primary responsibilities include:

• Linux Server Management & Maintenance: Installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining Linux operating systems (such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, or Ubuntu) in a production environment.
• Storage Systems Management: Configuring, monitoring, and managing storage solutions (like DAS, NAS, SAN) to ensure data availability and access performance. This includes managing storage volumes, disk partitioning (LVM), and file systems.
• Backup & Recovery Strategy Planning & Execution: Designing, operating, and monitoring regular backup processes using tools like Veeam, Commvault, Bacula, or Linux-based solutions (e.g., rsync, tar, with scripting). Ensuring reliable data recovery capabilities in case of loss or disaster.
• Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitoring server and storage system performance using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus. Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Security & Compliance: Implementing and updating server security policies, managing user permissions, and ensuring the application of the latest security updates and patches.
• Documentation: Creating and maintaining technical documentation for procedures, configurations, and disaster recovery plans.
• Technical Support: Providing Level 2 or Level 3 support to internal teams or clients regarding server and storage-related issues.

Qualifications & Core Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Work Experience: Proven hands-on experience of at least 3 to 5 years in a similar role (Linux server administration, storage and backup management).
• Advanced Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems and command-line interface (CLI) administration.
  • Practical experience configuring and managing storage solutions from major vendors (e.g., Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE) or open-source solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of backup and recovery strategies and tools.
  • Good understanding of network and storage protocols (NFS, CIFS/SMB, iSCSI, Fibre Channel).
  • Proficiency in scripting (Shell Scripting) such as Bash for task automation.
  • Knowledge of monitoring concepts and tools.
• Soft Skills:
