Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Mechanical Foreman will hold a critical frontline leadership role on-site, directly supervising laborers and technicians to ensure all mechanical works are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and schedule adherence. The core responsibilities for this role include:

• Leading, directing, and mentoring a team of mechanical laborers and technicians on the project site.
• Planning daily activities and allocating tasks to team members to achieve project milestones efficiently.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
• Supervising the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment (such as HVAC, plumbing, or industrial equipment, depending on the project scope).
• Ensuring strict compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures to maintain a zero-accident work environment.
• Monitoring work quality and conducting inspections to verify compliance with agreed-upon standards and specifications.
• Coordinating work with other foremen (electrical, civil, etc.) and the project manager to ensure seamless project execution.
• Reporting daily progress, any challenges or breakdowns, and material/equipment requirements to supervisors.
• Providing on-the-job training and skills development for new or junior workers.
• Maintaining a tidy, organized, and safe work area within the designated zone of responsibility.

Qualifications & Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this foreman position, you should meet the following criteria:

• A diploma or technical/engineering qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in mechanical works, with at least 3 proven years in a supervisory (Foreman) role on major contracting projects.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, installation, and maintenance methodologies.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and a strong understanding of engineering specifications.
• Comprehensive knowledge and a strong commitment to enforcing Occupational Health and Safety (HSE) regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Flexibility to work overtime or on weekends as required by project demands.
• Basic proficiency in English for communication (reading reports, understanding instructions) is a distinct advantage.
