Job Description

The Mechanical Supervisor will be stationed at a worksite, primarily responsible for the direct supervision of maintenance, inspection, and safe operation activities related to static equipment within the industrial facility. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring operational continuity and compliance with the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities are expected to include:

• Field Supervision: Leading and monitoring maintenance teams and technicians during the execution of preventive and corrective maintenance work on static equipment.
• Static Equipment Management: Overseeing a wide range of static equipment such as storage tanks, boilers, heat exchangers, furnaces, piping, and pressure vessels.
• Planning & Scheduling: Assisting in planning periodic maintenance activities and ensuring they are executed according to schedule and with required efficiency.
• Safety & Quality: Ensuring all tasks are performed in accordance with established safety procedures (e.g., Safe Work Practices, Work Permits) and stringent quality standards. Promoting a strong safety culture in the workplace.
• Inspection & Reporting: Monitoring equipment condition, identifying faults or wear, and preparing detailed technical reports on findings and actions taken.
• Coordination: Working closely with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement departments to ensure a smooth flow of information and requirements.
• Resource Management: Verifying the availability of tools, spare parts, and materials required to complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
• Training & Guidance: Providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring the application of best work practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

To qualify for this opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a Higher Technical Diploma (or equivalent qualification) with broader practical experience.
• Work Experience: Proven hands-on experience of at least 5 to 8 years in mechanical maintenance supervision, with a strong focus on static equipment within sectors such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Refining, Power, or Heavy Manufacturing industries.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of static equipment principles, design specifications, and international inspection codes (e.g., ASME, API). Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures is a strong advantage.
• Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, guide, and motivate a team in a multi-national work environment.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent planning, organizational, and priority management skills in a fast-paced setting.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication skills (verbal and written) in the English language. Knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
• Safety Knowledge: A strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards with practical knowledge of their application.
