AMJAAD ENGINEERING AND CONTRACTING is currently seeking qualified and experienced MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Draftsmen to join their technical team in Oman. Job Description

The MEP Draftsman at AMJAAD ENGINEERING AND CONTRACTING will be responsible for a range of critical technical tasks, including:

• Preparing detailed working drawings and shop drawings for MEP systems using CAD software, primarily AutoCAD.
• Working closely with MEP engineers to understand technical requirements and translate conceptual designs and schematics into accurate, construction-ready engineering drawings.
• Reviewing and modifying existing drawings based on feedback from the engineering team or client requirements.
• Ensuring all drawings comply with applicable local and international engineering standards and project specifications.
• Assisting in the preparation of project documentation packages, including schedules and lists.
• Maintaining an organized filing and archiving system for all engineering drawings and documents.
• Coordinating with other project disciplines (such as structural and architectural) to ensure design integration and clash avoidance.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in MEP drafting and design, preferably within a contracting or engineering consultancy environment.
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (recent versions) is a mandatory requirement.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP principles and systems (HVAC, ventilation, electrical layouts, fire protection, plumbing).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail in drawing preparation.
• Soft Skills:
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
  • Initiative and problem-solving abilities.
• Other Requirements: Proficiency in English (reading and writing) for handling technical documentation. Knowledge of Arabic will be an added advantage.
