Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The successful supervisor will be tasked with leading and managing a team of technicians and laborers within the metalworks division. The core focus will be on ensuring all metal fabrication and installation work is carried out to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Key day-to-day responsibilities are expected to include:

• Direct Supervision: Overseeing the fabrication, cutting, bending, welding, assembly, and installation of metal components and structures either on-site or in the workshop.
• Team Management: Directing, training, and evaluating the performance of the team of technicians and helpers, effectively delegating tasks to ensure adherence to project timelines.
• Quality Control: Ensuring all metal products and installations conform to precise technical specifications, engineering drawings, and established quality control standards.
• Safety First: Enforcing and implementing strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols on the work site, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all team members.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be a suitable candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Practical Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in metalworks or metal fabrication, with proven experience in a supervisory or lead role for at least 3 years.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of metal forming processes, welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc), reading engineering drawings (blueprints), and international quality standards.
• Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead and motivate a multicultural team, coupled with excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Safety Commitment: Comprehensive knowledge of safety systems and procedures in industrial work sites, with a proven track record of maintaining a safe working environment.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Educational Qualification: A diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or a related field is preferred. Extensive and exceptional experience may compensate for formal education.
