Network Security Engineer - Riyadh

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Network Security Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and integrity of the company's network and system environment. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and Implementation: Designing, implementing, and configuring advanced network security solutions, including firewalls from various vendors (e.g., Cisco ASA/Palo Alto/Fortinet), Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS), and Network Access Control (NAC) systems.
  • Monitoring and Analysis: Continuously monitoring network traffic to detect suspicious activities or intrusion attempts, and analyzing security logs and alerts for incident response.
  • Vulnerability Management: Conducting regular vulnerability assessment scans on servers, network devices, and applications, and developing remediation plans and priorities.
  • Policy Development: Contributing to the development and updating of information and network security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with best practices and international standards.
  • Incident Response: Active participation in the Incident Response team, executing containment and remediation actions for any security breaches.
  • Support and Consultation: Providing technical support and security consultations to the IT team and other departments regarding network risks and mitigation measures.
  • Documentation: Preparing and updating technical documentation for network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.

Qualifications and Core Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network security, with a proven track record in managing and securing complex network environments.
  • Professional Certifications: Possession of industry-recognized certifications is highly preferred, such as:
    • CCNA Security / CCNP Security from Cisco.
    • PCNSE from Palo Alto Networks.
    • NSE4 or higher from Fortinet.
    • Certifications like CEH, Security+ are a strong advantage.
  • Technical Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs).
    • Strong hands-on experience in managing and configuring firewalls, routing, and switching.
    • Solid understanding of encryption technologies, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and identity management systems.
    • Proficiency in using vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys) and log analysis tools.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and during emergency situations.
    • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
    • Teamwork and collaboration with different teams.
