Job Description

The Network Security Specialist will be embedded within the company's IT and Communications team, bearing primary responsibility for safeguarding the integrity, security, and resilience of the corporate network infrastructure. In today's business landscape, where cyber threats are escalating, this role is critical for ensuring operational continuity and protecting sensitive data.

Key Expected Responsibilities:

• Design & Implement Network Security Solutions: Develop, deploy, and maintain advanced security solutions including Firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Endpoint Security solutions.
• Continuous Monitoring & Analysis: Proactively monitor network traffic to detect suspicious activities or breach attempts, and analyze security logs for incident response.
• Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular scans of networks and systems to identify vulnerabilities, prioritize remediation plans, and apply security patches and updates in a timely manner.
• Policy & Procedure Development: Contribute to the creation and updating of network security policies, incident response procedures, and business continuity plans.
• Audit & Compliance: Perform internal security audits and ensure the network environment complies with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
• Awareness & Support: Provide technical support to the IT team and staff on security-related issues and promote security awareness within the company.

Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this opportunity at Madre Integrated Engineering, you should meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Information Security, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
• Recognized professional certifications will be highly advantageous, such as:
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security)
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
  • Other relevant certifications like CEH, Security+.

Practical Experience:

• Proven hands-on experience of 3 to 5 years in the network security domain.
• Practical experience in managing and configuring network security appliances from leading vendors (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper).
• In-depth understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP), network architecture, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
• Experience with security monitoring tools and log analysis.

Personal Skills:

• Strong analytical and investigative skills for solving complex problems.
• Ability to work under pressure and during emergency situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide clear reports to both technical and management teams.
• A proactive mindset with a commitment to independent learning and staying updated on the latest security threats and technologies.
