A leading and specialized construction and engineering company in Dubai is seeking applications for the position of Planning Engineer (MEP). This role is a cornerstone for ensuring the successful and timely execution of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects within schedule and budget, in Dubai's dynamic and fast-growing market.

Job Description

The Planning Engineer (MEP) will be primarily responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating all aspects of project planning and scheduling. He/She will work closely with Project Managers and the engineering team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness across all stages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare comprehensive and detailed schedule programs for MEP projects using specialized software like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Develop the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), link activities, and identify the project's critical path.
• Monitor actual project progress against the baseline schedule and prepare regular progress update reports.
• Analyze potential delays and the impact of change orders, and propose corrective actions to address any deviations.
• Coordinate and integrate schedules from other planners (civil, architectural, finishing) to ensure integration and coherence.
• Attend progress meetings with clients and contractors, providing clear presentations on schedule status.
• Prepare resource analyses and cost estimates related to scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards throughout all planning and execution phases.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

Academic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Recognized professional certifications in Planning (e.g., PMI Scheduling Professional or equivalent) will be a strong added advantage.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Planning Engineer role, with a strong focus on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects.
• Proven experience working on large or medium-scale construction projects in the Gulf region, preferably in the Dubai/UAE market.
• Advanced proficiency in project planning software, especially Primavera P6, as well as the Microsoft Office suite.
• In-depth understanding of MEP project design and execution phases, technical specifications, and construction methodologies.

• Excellent analytical and deductive skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
• High accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Powerful communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, in Arabic and English.
