QC Engineer - Civil (Dubai)

Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The QC Engineer (Civil) will be primarily responsible for ensuring all construction and civil engineering works are executed in compliance with the highest quality standards, technical specifications, and applicable regulations. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning & Implementation: Developing and implementing project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plans.
- Inspection & Monitoring: Conducting regular and continual site inspections for all civil activities (concrete works, reinforcement, masonry, finishing works, etc.).
- Compliance Assurance: Ensuring materials, methods, and execution comply with contract specifications, international standards (such as ASTM, ACI), and local Dubai regulations.
- Documentation: Preparing daily inspection reports, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), test reports, and systematically maintaining all quality-related documentation.
- Coordination: Working closely with the Project Manager, contractor's engineers, subcontractors, and HSE personnel to ensure an integrated approach to quality and safety.
- Problem Resolution: Identifying quality deficiencies or deviations and proposing corrective and preventive actions, following up on their implementation until closure.
- Material Review: Inspecting and approving materials arriving on site (cement, steel, aggregates, etc.) based on certificates of conformity and lab test results.
- Testing: Overseeing the conduct of material tests and concrete samples on-site or at approved laboratories, and analyzing the results.
Qualifications & Requirements
To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Professional Certifications: Possession of recognized quality certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Manager CQM, Certified Quality Inspector CQI) is preferred. Knowledge of local Dubai building regulations (Dubai Municipality) is a strong advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a QC Engineer or similar role on major construction/civil engineering projects (e.g., residential/commercial buildings, infrastructure). Experience in the GCC region, specifically the UAE, is highly valued.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of construction quality standards and specifications, ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints, and inspection/testing procedures.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, ability to work within a team and in a multicultural environment, attention to detail and accuracy, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of Arabic is beneficial but not mandatory.

- Location: Project site in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
- Nature of Work: Full-time position, with readiness to work on the construction site according to the project schedule, which may occasionally require flexible hours.
