QC Engineer (Metallic & Non-Metallic) - Fourth Dimension Group
Fourth Dimension Group is actively recruiting a qualified QC Engineer specializing in Metallic and Non-Metallic materials to join their operations in Qatar. The role may involve working across multiple locations, including Doha, Wakra, and Al Khor.
Job Overview
The QC Engineer will be primarily responsible for ensuring that all metallic materials (such as steel, aluminum, and various alloys) and non-metallic materials (such as plastics, composites, polymers, and ceramics) meet the highest quality standards and technical specifications. Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee the inspection and testing processes for incoming materials (raw materials, semi-finished components) and finished products, with a focus on metallic and non-metallic categories.
- Develop and implement Quality Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and appropriate testing methodologies for each material type.
- Conduct physical and mechanical tests on samples (e.g., tensile test, hardness test, impact test, etc.).
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project requirements.
- Use precision measuring tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Accurately document inspection and test results and prepare detailed quality reports (Test Certificates, Non-Conformance Reports - NCR).
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and project teams to resolve any quality-related issues arising during manufacturing or construction processes.
- Ensure compliance with international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001), specific industry standards, and client specifications.
- Review and approve supplier quality documentation.
- Participate in internal quality audit processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Proven practical experience of at least 3-5 years in Quality Control, with a strong focus on the inspection and testing of metallic and non-metallic materials.
- In-depth knowledge of the properties and behaviors of different materials (metallic and non-metallic).
- Strong familiarity with international testing standards (e.g., ASTM, ASME, ISO, BS).
- Hands-on skills in using quality inspection tools and equipment (hardness testers, universal testing machines, etc.).
- Ability to interpret test results and analyze data.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills in English (Arabic is a strong plus).
- Ability to work within a team and in a multitasking environment.
- A quality certification (e.g., CQI/IRCA Certified Lead Auditor) would be a significant advantage.
