Bojamhoor Mechanical and Electrical Company WLL is currently seeking qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyors to join their team in Doha, Qatar. Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the financial and administrative aspects of the company's projects. Core duties will include:

  • Cost Preparation and Analysis: Preparing initial cost estimates for projects, analyzing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, and preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Contract Administration: Assisting in drafting and reviewing project contracts, fully understanding their terms and conditions, and ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Measurement and Valuation: Measuring quantities of work completed on-site, preparing interim payment applications, and valuing variations or changes in the scope of work.
  • Financial Monitoring: Monitoring actual costs against approved budgets, preparing regular cost reports, and proposing cost-control measures to avoid overruns.
  • Tendering: Assisting in the preparation of bids and tenders from a financial and quantitative perspective.
  • Coordination: Working closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure the accuracy of financial and quantitative information.
  • Final Account Settlement: Preparing the project's final account and settling all financial claims with relevant parties.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or in Quantity Surveying.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role within the construction and contracting sector. Experience in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) projects is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in quantity surveying principles, reading technical drawings and blueprints, and a deep understanding of construction methodologies.
  • Software Skills: Excellent knowledge of relevant computer software, especially Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel). Familiarity with specialized measurement and costing software (e.g., AutoCAD, CostX, or similar) is a plus.
  • Personal Skills: Excellent communication and analytical skills, high accuracy and attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, and strong negotiation skills.
  • Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic is beneficial.
