A leading and confidential company is seeking to hire an experienced Retrofit Manager to oversee and manage its modernization projects across Dubai and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Retrofit Manager will bear the overall responsibility for the successful planning, execution, and closure of retrofit projects. Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Leadership & Strategic Planning: Leading the project team and developing detailed plans for retrofitting existing buildings, industrial facilities, or infrastructure, ensuring objectives are met within the stipulated schedule and budget.
- Technical Operations Management: Directly supervising all technical aspects of the project, including Civil, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), and construction works associated with the modernization process.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Selecting, managing, and coordinating the work of subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants, ensuring their adherence to technical specifications, and the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Financial Oversight: Preparing initial and final budgets, monitoring costs meticulously, and providing regular financial reporting to senior management.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensuring all project works comply with local municipal regulations in Dubai and Sharjah, Civil Defense specifications, and any relevant international standards (e.g., LEED, sustainability benchmarks).
- Risk & Quality Management: Proactively identifying potential project risks and developing mitigation plans, implementing quality control systems to ensure project delivery meets agreed specifications.
- Communication & Coordination: Acting as the primary liaison between all stakeholders, including the client (the company), the design team, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications & Essential Requirements
To qualify for this leadership opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related engineering field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP - Project Management Professional) is a strong advantage.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in construction or retrofit project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing building or infrastructure modernization projects in the Gulf region, preferably within the UAE specifically.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of building systems (MEP), construction materials, construction methodologies, CAD software, and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Personal Skills & Leadership Abilities:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards goal achievement.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, in English. Arabic language skills are highly advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Thorough understanding of financial and accounting principles related to project management.
Work Location & Opportunities
