• Cross-Department Coordination: Working closely with project managers, construction engineers, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) officers to ensure lifting operations are integrated with the overall project schedule and adhere to the highest safety protocols.
• Problem-Solving: Identifying potential site hazards and devising immediate practical solutions to overcome technical or logistical challenges related to lifting.
• Training and Guidance: Instructing and training crew members on correct procedures and safe lifting techniques.
• Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of all lifting operations, inspection reports, equipment certifications, and any safety incidents.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A diploma in an engineering field (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial) or equivalent. Significant proven practical experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in rigging and lifting operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role (Supervisor or Foreman) on major industrial or construction projects, preferably within the oil & gas, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
• Professional Certifications: Possession of recognized certifications in safe lifting practices (e.g., from the National Safety Council NSC, Lifting Equipment Engineers Association LEEA, or equivalent local certifications). A Health and Safety qualification (such as NEBOSH or IOSH) is a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of material properties, load dynamics, lifting mechanics, and the capabilities of various cranes and heavy equipment.
• Personal Skills: Strong leadership and supervisory skills, excellent communication and coordination abilities, a keen attention to detail, and the capacity to work under pressure and make quick, decisive decisions in a live site environment.
• Other Requirements: Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking) for handling plans and communicating with a multinational team. Knowledge of Arabic will be an additional advantage.
