Job Description
The School Counselor will be appointed in a dynamic educational setting, responsible for providing comprehensive support to students. The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing Academic Guidance and Counseling: Assisting students in planning their academic future, selecting suitable educational pathways, and improving their study skills.
- Psychological and Social Support: Offering individual and group counseling sessions to students to address behavioral, emotional, or social challenges that may affect their school performance and well-being.
- Collaboration with Faculty and Parents: Working closely with teachers, school administration, and parents to develop integrated student support plans and ensure effective communication regarding student progress and needs.
- Developing and Implementing Awareness Programs: Designing and implementing programs and workshops aimed at promoting mental health, problem-solving skills, and social adaptation among students.
- Assessment and Follow-up: Periodically assessing student needs, monitoring their progress, and reporting outcomes and recommendations to school management.
- Adherence to Policies and Standards: Ensuring all practices and procedures align with the educational institution's policies and the professional and ethical standards adopted in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in School Counseling, Special Education, Psychology, or a directly related field. A higher degree (Master's) is preferred.
- Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 2 to 3 years in school counseling or a similar role in an educational environment. Experience in international or private schools is a strong advantage.
- Personal Skills:
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
- The ability to build trusting relationships with students of various age groups and backgrounds.
- Skills in active listening and high empathy.
- Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Absolute confidentiality and commitment to professional ethics.
- High organizational skills and efficient time management.
- General Requirements: Proficiency in computer use and Office programs. A professional record free of issues.
