Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant at Egis Group will be entrusted with critical tasks that ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the company's financial operations in Qatar. The core responsibilities for this role include:

• Financial & Accounting Management: Overseeing day-to-day bookkeeping and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial records for the Qatar entity.
• Financial Reporting: Contributing to the preparation of periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the group's internal policies.
• Reconciliation & Follow-up: Performing regular account reconciliations (e.g., receivables, payables, bank accounts) and following up on claims and receivables.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assisting in the budgeting and financial forecasting processes, and monitoring performance against approved budgets.
• Compliance & Audit: Ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations in Qatar, and coordinating with external auditors during annual audit processes.
• Cost & Project Analysis: Analyzing costs associated with various projects and providing financial insights to support management decision-making.
• Supervision & Guidance: The role may involve supervising a small accounting team or guiding less experienced colleagues, requiring good leadership skills.

Qualifications & Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, or ACCA are a significant advantage and often preferred.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of proven experience in accounting and finance, with demonstrated expertise in a Senior Accountant role or similar. Experience within engineering, construction, consultancy firms, or an international environment is a strong plus.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and Qatari tax procedures.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and investigative skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Arabic (verbal and written). High integrity and reliability in handling sensitive financial information.
