Job Overview

The Senior Associate for Joint Ventures (G2G) will play a central role in managing, developing, and overseeing investments and partnerships established by the Authority with other government entities, both locally and internationally. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring these joint ventures meet their strategic and financial objectives while adhering to the highest standards of governance and cooperation.

Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties

  • Partnership Portfolio Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of existing Government-to-Government (G2G) joint ventures, from initial assessment and negotiation phases to implementation and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Strategic Development: Contribute to identifying new partnership opportunities that align with the strategic goals of the Oman Investment Authority and the Omani economy at large.
  • Analysis and Due Diligence: Conduct in-depth economic and financial feasibility analyses for proposed projects, assessing associated risks and opportunities.
  • Coordination and Liaison: Act as a central point of contact between the OIA and partner government entities, ensuring effective information flow and coordinated efforts.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed periodic reports for the Authority's management on the performance of joint ventures, challenges faced, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure all joint ventures comply with relevant local and international regulations, policies, and principles of sound governance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Law. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CMA) is a strong advantage.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in fields such as investment, finance, business development, or project management. Previous experience working on government or public-sector projects (G2G/B2G), or within sovereign wealth funds or major investment institutions, is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and project valuation. Deep knowledge of risk management principles and corporate governance.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation and communication skills at all levels, coupled with high analytical and strategic thinking abilities. Must be a team player capable of working in a multicultural environment.
  • Language: Full professional proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential. Proficiency in Arabic is a significant advantage.
