Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Senior Commercial Manager will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the commercial and financial aspects of a major project or a portfolio of projects. Operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the focus will be on maximizing project value while ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality and safety. Core responsibilities include:

• Strategic Leadership: Developing and implementing project commercial strategies to enhance financial efficiency, manage risk, and achieve profitability targets.
• Contract Management: Full oversight of the contract lifecycle, from initial tender and negotiation phases, through daily management of contractual obligations and entitlements, to final close-out and settlement.
• Financial Control & Cost Management: Leading estimating and cost teams, monitoring budgets, preparing periodic financial performance reports, and ensuring rigorous cost control throughout all project phases.
• Claims & Change Management: Leading the identification, evaluation, and management of claims and variation orders, negotiating to protect the company's interests and ensure contractual fairness.
• Team Management: Guiding and leading a multidisciplinary commercial team, fostering their development, and ensuring effective collaboration with other project teams (engineering, procurement, execution).
• Stakeholder Management: Building strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Compliance & Governance: Ensuring full compliance with all company internal policies, local Saudi regulations, and international best practices in contract and commercial management.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To qualify for this leadership position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, or Law. A Master's degree in Business Administration or Project Management is a strong advantage.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in commercial and contract management, with a strong focus on major infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, transportation, energy, water). This must include at least 5 years in a leadership role as a Commercial Manager.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of international contract forms such as FIDIC, and accounting/financial reporting standards. Advanced skills in data analysis software and project management tools.
• Personal Skills: Decisive leadership with excellent decision-making and complex problem-solving abilities. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills (written and verbal) in both Arabic and English. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Location: Applicants must be resident in Saudi Arabia or willing to relocate.
