Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Senior Electrical Engineer will hold a leadership and technical position within the project team. Their core responsibility will be to oversee all electrical aspects of the company's projects, from initial design phases through to final handover and commissioning. They will be accountable for ensuring full compliance with the highest applicable local and international standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key day-to-day duties are expected to include:

• Leading the design, development, and review of electrical drawings and schematics for power, lighting, and control systems across projects.
• Preparing technical specifications, tender documents, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) related to electrical works.
• Providing direct on-site supervision of electrical works execution by subcontractors and technical teams, ensuring adherence to designs and specifications.
• Coordinating closely with project managers and engineers from other disciplines (civil, mechanical) to ensure seamless systems integration.
• Performing necessary technical calculations for the selection of appropriate electrical equipment and devices (cables, distribution boards, protection systems).
• Monitoring quality and inspecting electrical materials and equipment upon delivery and prior to installation.
• Troubleshooting technical issues that arise during construction and commissioning phases.
• Ensuring compliance with all Civil Defense and local utility regulations (e.g., Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority - SEWA) and securing necessary approvals.
• Preparing regular technical progress reports for electrical works.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To qualify for this leadership role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years of practical experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on major construction projects such as residential/commercial buildings, complexes, hospitals, or hotels. Experience in the UAE or GCC market is a significant advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in medium and low-voltage power systems, lighting systems, lightning & fire protection systems, and backup power systems (generators, UPS). Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and life safety systems is a strong plus.
• Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in engineering design software like AutoCAD, and load calculation software (e.g., ETAP, Dialux).
• Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and team management abilities, strong communication skills (verbal and written), and the capacity to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Professional Certifications: Recognized professional certifications (e.g., PMP, safety certifications) will be highly regarded.
