Senior Pipelines Engineer - Wood in Doha, Qatar

Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The Senior Pipelines Engineer will play a crucial technical and supervisory role within the project delivery team, overseeing the design, review, and implementation of pipeline systems for major oil, gas, and energy projects. Core responsibilities include:
- Technical Leadership: Providing expert technical guidance across all project phases for pipelines, from conceptual design through to detailed engineering, review, and execution support.
- Design and Engineering: Preparing, reviewing, and approving key engineering deliverables such as Pipeline Specifications, Material Take-Offs (MTOs), hydraulic and stress analysis calculations, General Arrangement Drawings (GADs), and detailed fabrication drawings.
- Project Management Support: Collaborating closely with project managers and clients to ensure work is delivered according to specified requirements, within budget, and on schedule, while adhering to the highest standards of quality and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment).
- Compliance and Standards: Ensuring all designs and work comply with relevant international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO) as well as local and international regulatory and environmental requirements.
- Coordination and Support: Coordinating with other engineering disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) to ensure seamless system integration. Providing technical support during procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Contractor Review: Evaluating contractor bids and reviewing their design proposals to ensure alignment with project specifications.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
To be considered for this senior role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 8 to 12 years of proven experience in pipeline engineering, with a strong focus on oil and gas projects, both offshore and onshore. Experience within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, particularly Qatar, is a significant advantage.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with industry-standard engineering software such as CAESAR II for stress analysis, AutoCAD, and MicroStation. Familiarity with project management systems is expected.
- Personal Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities to function effectively in a multinational environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Language: Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
