Job Overview

The Senior Project Accountant will play a pivotal role within the company's finance team, serving as the primary responsible for the financial and administrative aspects of the company's project portfolio. This position will work closely with project managers and operations departments to ensure financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and the achievement of set financial targets.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Project Financial Management: Oversee all financial aspects of assigned projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting revenue and expenditures.
• Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular and ad-hoc financial reports on project performance, analyzing variances from budget and providing management recommendations.
• Client Invoicing: Ensure accurate and timely issuance of invoices to clients and follow up on receivables according to contract terms.
• Compliance and Control: Ensure all project-related transactions and expenses comply with company internal policies and applicable accounting standards.
• Internal Coordination: Act as a liaison between the finance department and project management/operations teams, providing necessary financial support and consultation.
• Project Close-Out: Manage the financial close-out process for projects, including the reconciliation of all costs and profit realization.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA, ACCA) are a significant advantage.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting, with a strong focus on project accounting. Previous experience in construction, real estate development, or consulting services sectors is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Team spirit and ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
