Job Description

The Senior QC Engineer will play a pivotal role within the company's Quality department. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance and control activities to ensure compliance with local and international standards, client requirements, and the company's internal policies. This position operates in a dynamic environment that demands precision and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement quality control and assurance plans for ongoing projects or operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests on materials, products, and processes at various stages of production or execution.
  • Review and analyze quality data, identify deficiencies or deviations, and propose corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare and update quality-related documentation such as quality plans, inspection reports, and non-conformance records.
  • Ensure all relevant teams adhere to established quality procedures and protocols.
  • Act as a point of contact with suppliers and contractors regarding quality matters and requirements.
  • Participate in internal audit processes and prepare for external audits.
  • Train and mentor less experienced members of the quality team.
  • Prepare periodic management reports on system and quality performance.

Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or a related field).
  • Professional certifications in quality management such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) will be a significant advantage.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in quality control and assurance, with a substantial portion in a senior or lead auditor role.
  • Proven experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of international quality standards like ISO 9001 and relevant industry-specific standards.
  • Experience in supplier quality management and dealing with supply chain quality issues.

Personal and Professional Skills:

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills for solving complex problems.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with all management levels and cross-functional teams.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to work within and manage a team.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and software related to quality management.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken (Arabic language skills are an additional advantage).
