Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed specialist will be integrated into the hospital's Orthopedic Surgery Department and will be responsible for delivering top-tier surgical and consultative care to patients. Core responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and treating a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries, including fractures, joint and ligament injuries, arthritis, back pain, and degenerative conditions.
  • Performing specialized orthopedic surgical procedures, with a focus on employing the latest surgical techniques and evidence-based methodologies.
  • Evaluating new patient cases and conducting regular follow-ups for pre- and post-operative patients.
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team comprising anesthesiologists, physiotherapists, radiologists, and specialized nurses to ensure comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Participating in clinical rounds and departmental surgical conferences.
  • Adhering to the highest standards of safety, medical ethics, and professional conduct as mandated by the hospital and the UAE health authorities.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To be eligible for this critical role, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Medical Degree: Possession of a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree, followed by a recognized post-graduate specialization degree (Fellowship, Master's, or Diploma) in Orthopedic Surgery from an accredited institution.
  • Licensing: Must hold a valid license to practice medicine from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) or be immediately eligible to obtain one. Board certification from the Arab, American, European, or equivalent boards is highly preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of post-specialization experience in orthopedic surgery, with a proven track record of successfully performing both complex and routine surgical procedures.
  • Personal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and colleagues, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and a strong commitment to clinical precision.
  • Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential. Knowledge of the Arabic language is a significant advantage.
