Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Service Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the optimal and reliable operation of clients' Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. The core responsibilities include:

• Preventive and Scheduled Maintenance: Performing scheduled inspections and maintenance on UPS systems to minimize failure risks and ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.
• Troubleshooting and Repair: Responding to service calls, diagnosing complex electrical and mechanical faults in UPS systems, and executing effective repairs in a timely manner.
• Installation and Commissioning: Assisting in the installation or upgrade of new systems, ensuring they are configured and commissioned correctly according to engineering standards.
• Customer Service and Technical Support: Providing professional technical support to clients, clearly explaining fault nature and repairs performed, and offering recommendations for improved reliability.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, and preparing detailed reports on system status and recommendations.
• Spare Parts Management: Identifying required spare parts, ordering them, and managing a basic inventory to ensure rapid response capability.
• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhering to all applicable electrical and industrial safety protocols in Qatar to protect oneself, clients, and equipment.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field. Extensive practical experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
• Practical Experience: Proven hands-on experience of at least 3 to 5 years in maintaining and servicing UPS systems. Experience with major global brands (e.g., Eaton, Schneider Electric, Emerson, etc.) is a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth understanding of electrical principles, AC/DC circuits, and backup power systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and installation drawings.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills using specialized measurement tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Arabic and English preferred), ability to work independently and in a team, strong customer service orientation, and reliability.
