Job Overview
The Finance & Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating all financial and operational aspects of the bullion trading activities. This position is crucial in enabling the firm to maintain strong liquidity, manage risk effectively, and ensure the seamless day-to-day operations that support the core trading business. The role typically reports directly to senior management or the managing partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) for trading activities.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of the bullion investment portfolio, providing insights on profitability and risk.
- Manage cash flows, collateral, and margin requirements with brokers and financial institutions.
- Develop financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and any relevant local regulations.
- Operations & Trade Management:
- Oversee the back-office operations of trading, including trade confirmation, settlement, and clearing.
- Coordinate with clearing houses, depositories, and insured carriers for physical delivery logistics (if applicable).
- Streamline and manage internal processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control.
- Manage relationships with key banks, brokers, and suppliers in the supply chain.
- Risk Management & Compliance:
- Assist in developing and implementing risk management frameworks for market, credit, liquidity, and operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and ethical standards in all transactions.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CMA) is a significant advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a finance or operations role, with proven experience in the financial trading, commodities, or specifically the bullion/precious metals market.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, trading instruments, and transaction settlement mechanisms.
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and financial practices.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, preferably with experience in trading platforms and specialized financial software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Arabic.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-changing environment with a very high attention to detail.
