Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer will be based at the company's location in Sharjah and will be responsible for a range of critical technical and administrative tasks supporting project objectives. The core responsibilities expected for this role include:
- Overseeing the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems within the company's projects.
- Preparing and implementing plans and schedules for mechanical projects, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and defined budgets.
- Coordinating with other work teams such as civil engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration between disciplines.
- Reviewing engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications, and proposing necessary improvements or modifications.
- Conducting engineering calculations and analyses to ensure the efficiency and safety of mechanical systems.
- Supervising installation work on-site and ensuring compliance with the highest quality and safety standards.
- Preparing technical reports and documenting work progress and updates for managers and supervisors.
- Full compliance with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) systems and policies in force within the company and in the UAE.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- Experience: Proven practical experience in the field of mechanical engineering, preferably within the contracting or construction sector. Experience in the UAE or Gulf market is a strong added advantage.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and firefighting systems. Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and other relevant engineering software.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Certifications: Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, project management, or quality systems certifications) are preferred.
- Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
Work Location and Environment
The primary workplace will be at GINCO Cont. Co. LLC offices and project sites in the Emirate of Sharjah, with potential travel between different project locations within the emirate or neighboring emirates as required by work.
