MEP Supervisor / Foreman Job in Oman

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The appointed MEP Supervisor/Foreman will be directly responsible for overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities at the project site. Core duties include:

• On-Site Supervision: Directly lead and supervise teams of technicians and laborers executing MEP installation and commissioning work.
• Planning & Scheduling: Participate in planning daily and weekly activity schedules, ensuring work is carried out in strict accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Quality & Safety Control: Guarantee all work meets the highest quality standards and project specifications. Hold primary responsibility for implementing and enforcing all site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
• Coordination: Effectively coordinate with the Project Manager, consultant engineers, and other subcontractors to ensure workflow harmony and avoid clashes between different trades.
• Material & Equipment Oversight: Supervise the receipt, storage, and proper use of MEP materials and equipment. Report any shortages, defects, or discrepancies immediately.
• Reporting: Prepare daily or weekly progress reports detailing work completed, team productivity, and any challenges encountered, submitting them to project management.
• Problem-Solving: Address technical issues that arise during execution, developing practical and effective solutions in collaboration with the engineering team.
• Team Training: Oversee the on-the-job training and development of team members to ensure competency and adherence to work standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Extensive proven experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in the MEP field, with at least 3 years in a proven supervisory role (Supervisor or Foreman) on large-scale construction projects.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of codes and standards for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing works. Familiarity with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) construction practices is a strong advantage.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse workforce. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English (reading and writing) is mandatory for interpreting technical drawings and reports. Knowledge of Arabic is a beneficial asset.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and administrative abilities, with the capacity to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Safety Knowledge: A strong commitment to safety culture and comprehensive knowledge of construction site safety protocols.
