PE III / Site Project - Construction Engineer - Wood - Saudi Arabia

Wood, a global leader in engineering, consulting, and project management across energy and environmental markets, is actively recruiting for a PE III / Site Project - Construction Engineer to join their dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the field execution team, responsible for the technical and supervisory aspects of the construction phase at the project site. Core responsibilities include:

  • Field Supervision: Directly supervise the work of contractors and subcontractors on-site to ensure full compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, stringent safety regulations, and project schedules.
  • Coordination & Planning: Act as a vital link between the home office project management and the site workforce. Participate in planning daily and weekly activities and organizing necessary resources.
  • Quality & Safety Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of work in progress, review Method Statements, and ensure all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures are rigorously followed. Report any non-conformances or hazards.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify technical or execution challenges and obstacles that arise on-site and work to develop practical and effective solutions in collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Reporting: Document daily work progress, prepare reports on achievement, material consumption, and any incidents or delays, and present them to project management.
  • Specification Compliance: Ensure all construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved engineering drawings, standard specifications, and globally recognized engineering best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

To be eligible for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline relevant to industrial construction.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in supervising construction activities for major industrial projects, preferably within the oil & gas, petrochemicals, energy, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of civil, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation works, as well as supporting utilities.
  • Safety Skills: A strong commitment to and thorough awareness of all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols and standards in industrial work sites.
  • Personal Skills: Excellent leadership and motivational abilities, strong communication skills (both verbal and written), and the capacity to work under pressure in a multicultural environment.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage.
