Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and periodic reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable operations, and manage cash flows.
- Perform periodic bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Contribute to budgeting, financial forecasting, and monitoring performance against targets.
- Ensure compliance with relevant local and regional tax regulations related to commodity trading activities.
- Work closely with operations and trading departments to provide supportive financial insights for decision-making.
- Assist with internal and external audit processes and provide required documentation.
- Contribute to improving and developing accounting procedures and policies to enhance efficiency and control.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA) are a significant advantage.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of practical experience in accounting or auditing, with proven experience in the commodity trading, international trade, or a similar financial services sector.
- Working proficiency with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Strong knowledge of the regulatory and tax environment in the United Arab Emirates, particularly in Dubai.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with exceptional communication and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
