Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The appointed Consultant will play a pivotal role within the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department, with responsibilities encompassing a wide range of duties:
- Providing expert consultations and accurate diagnoses for patients in outpatient OB/GYN clinics.
- Supervising and performing specialized surgical procedures in gynecology and obstetrics, including cesarean sections, gynecological oncology surgeries, and diagnostic and operative laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries.
- Managing and providing comprehensive care for pregnant women throughout their entire pregnancy journey, from routine check-ups to delivery and postpartum care.
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team that includes anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and specialized nursing staff to deliver holistic patient care.
- Supervising and training medical residents and students, fostering knowledge transfer to the next generation of medical professionals.
- Adhering to the highest standards of medical quality and safety as mandated by local and international accreditation bodies.
- Participating in continuous medical development activities and scientific research to enhance departmental practices.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be eligible for this prestigious role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: An MBBS or equivalent medical degree, followed by a recognized specialization certificate (Board Certification) in Obstetrics & Gynecology from an accredited institution.
- Licensing: The applicant must possess a valid medical license to practice from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, or be immediately eligible to obtain one. Prior experience working within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) healthcare system is highly preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years of post-specialization practical experience, with a proven track record in managing complex cases and performing intricate surgical procedures.
- Skills: Exceptional diagnostic and consultative skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and make swift, accurate decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with patients and medical teams are essential.
- Language: Proficiency in both Arabic and English, spoken and written.
