Job Description and Key Responsibilities

  • Project Documentation Analysis: Meticulously studying engineering drawings (structural, architectural), project specifications, and contract conditions to accurately understand requirements.
  • Quantity Take-Off: Performing detailed calculations for required raw material quantities (concrete, reinforcement steel, blocks, finishes, etc.) using specialized software or precise manual methods.
  • Cost Pricing: Determining the cost of materials, labor, equipment, overheads, and expected profit to formulate a comprehensive and competitive price offer.
  • Preparation of Quotations and Tenders/Bids: Developing and submitting professional, clear bids to clients or the tendering department, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions.
  • Coordination with Other Departments: Working closely with design engineers, project managers, and procurement officers to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Review and Analysis of Supplier/Subcontractor Bids: Evaluating incoming quotations and selecting the most suitable based on quality and price.
  • Contribution to Risk Management: Identifying potential financial and technical risks in the pre-contract stage and proposing solutions or alternatives.
  • Maintaining Price Databases: Continuously updating databases for local material prices and labor rates to ensure estimation accuracy.

Qualifications and Core Requirements

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in estimation and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, specialized estimation software like CCS Candy, BuildSoft, or similar).

    • Full understanding of project development stages and contracting procedures.
  • Personal Skills:
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
