Inkan Holding, a well-established entity in the Saudi Arabian business sector, is recruiting for the position of Estimation Engineer at its headquarters in Al Ahsa. Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for a range of vital tasks that form the financial and technical foundation for project planning. Core responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of Cost Estimates and Bids: Analyzing tender documents (drawings, specifications, conditions) and preparing accurate preliminary cost estimates for construction and development projects.
  • Quantity Analysis: Performing take-offs and calculating the quantities of materials (steel, concrete, civil and architectural works, etc.) required for projects based on engineering drawings.
  • Bill of Quantities (BOQ) Preparation: Formulating and organizing detailed Bills of Quantities and specifications used as the basis for tenders and negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Coordination with Internal Departments: Working closely with design, project, and procurement teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Supplier Bid Analysis: Evaluating price quotations received from suppliers and contractors, comparing them based on quality, price, and schedule.
  • Risk Management Contribution: Identifying potential cost-impacting elements at an early stage and proposing alternative solutions.
  • Follow-up and Updates: Continuously updating databases of material prices and labor rates to ensure the accuracy of estimates for future projects.

Qualifications and Key Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or any related engineering field from an accredited university.
  • Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in quantity surveying and cost estimation, preferably with contracting or real estate development companies in the Saudi or Gulf market.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Excellent proficiency in estimation software (such as advanced Microsoft Excel) and CAD software for reading and measurement.
    • Strong knowledge of local construction methods, material specifications, and market prices in the Kingdom.
    • Good understanding of the legal and contractual aspects related to tenders and bids.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
    • Teamwork and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
