Job Description
The appointed Facility Engineer at Surefix will be responsible for contributing to the efficiency, safety, and reliability of building or industrial plant systems. The role encompasses a range of critical engineering and operational tasks.
Key Expected Responsibilities:
- Oversight and Maintenance: Supervising preventive and corrective maintenance operations for core facility systems, which may include HVAC, electrical power, plumbing, fire protection, and security & safety systems.
- Contractor and Vendor Management: Coordinating with external contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed according to agreed specifications and standards.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitoring the performance of facility systems, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensuring all facility operations comply with local regulations, building codes, and occupational health and safety standards in Saudi Arabia.
- Project Planning: Assisting in the planning and execution of facility development or upgrade projects, from initial design to final handover.
- Reporting: Preparing regular technical reports on facility status, system performance, potential risks, and any incidents.
- Emergency Management: Developing emergency response plans and handling sudden breakdowns in critical facility systems.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Advanced professional certifications (e.g., Certified Facility Manager - CFM) may be an added advantage.
Work Experience:
- Proven hands-on experience in facility engineering or management, typically a minimum of 3 to 5 years.
- Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC market and an understanding of its regulations is a significant advantage.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and monitoring systems.
Required Skills:
- Strong Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of engineering principles for mechanical and electrical building systems.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze operational data, diagnose problems, and develop effective solutions.
- Organizational and Managerial Skills: Capability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle maintenance-related budgets.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams, management, and contractors.
- Computer Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suites and basic engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Language: Proficiency in English for reading and writing is essential. Knowledge of Arabic will be a strong additional advantage.
