Job Description and Responsibilities

The successfully appointed engineer will be part of the IT & Communications team and will be primarily responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of Internet Protocol-based telephony systems. Key expected responsibilities include:

• Design & Implementation: Participating in planning and designing the architecture of IP Telephony systems (e.g., Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Avaya, or open-source solutions) to meet client or internal business requirements.
• Configuration & Management: Configuring and managing communication servers, gateways, IP phones, and Voice over IP (VoIP) systems.
• Maintenance & Technical Support: Ensuring system uptime, performing routine maintenance, and effectively troubleshooting to resolve any emergent technical issues.
• Integration: Integrating IP Telephony systems with other applications such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, call center solutions, and core network infrastructure.
• Security: Implementing security best practices to protect communication systems from threats and breaches.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Work Experience: Proven hands-on experience of at least 3 to 5 years in engineering and operating IP Telephony / VoIP systems.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols such as SIP, RTP, SCCP.
