Job Description and Responsibilities
The Site Engineer will be directly responsible for overseeing all phases of joinery and interior fit-out work execution on the project site, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and adherence to the scheduled timeline. Key responsibilities include:
- Technical Supervision: Directly supervising work crews and subcontractors on-site for the execution of joinery and interior fit-out works (such as carpentry, flooring installation, wall partitions, false ceilings, kitchens, cabinetry, and other finishing works).
- Quality Control: Ensuring all works are executed according to approved technical specifications, designs, shop drawings, and the highest industry quality standards.
- Planning and Monitoring: Assisting in the preparation of weekly and monthly execution plans, monitoring daily work progress, and ensuring compliance with the project schedule.
- Coordination and Reporting: Coordinating with other discipline engineers (MEP) to ensure integration of all works. Preparing daily and weekly reports on work progress and achievements for the responsible engineer or project manager.
- Material Management: Monitoring material and supply levels on-site and requesting needs in a timely manner to avoid work disruption.
- Safety: Ensuring all personnel on-site comply with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) procedures, maintaining a safe and hazard-free work environment.
- Problem-Solving: Addressing technical challenges that may arise during execution and proposing appropriate solutions in coordination with the management team.
Qualifications and Requirements
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related engineering field.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in supervising joinery and interior fit-out works on construction project sites. Previous experience in the UAE or GCC market is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of interior finishing materials, installation methods, and standard specifications. Proficiency in reading and understanding architectural/engineering drawings and detail plans.
- Personal Skills: Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a work team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Other: Proficiency in basic computer software (MS Office) and relevant engineering software is a plus.
