Job Description

A prestigious healthcare client in Doha, Qatar, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse specialized in Diabetes Education. The successful candidate will play a key role in empowering patients to manage their condition effectively and improve their long-term health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group education sessions for patients and their families on diabetes self-management.
• Assess patients' educational needs and develop personalized care and education plans.
• Train patients on blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration (including pumps and pens), medication management, and dietary planning.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including endocrinologists, dietitians, and pharmacists, to ensure integrated patient care.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust education plans as needed, and provide ongoing support.
• Document all nursing and educational interventions accurately in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Contribute to the development of patient education materials and diabetes awareness programs.
• Stay updated on the latest evidence-based practices in diabetes care and education.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years of dedicated experience in diabetes care and education.
• Licensure: Valid nursing license from home country. Must be eligible for licensure with the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP).
• Certification: Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credential is highly preferred.
• Skills:
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written). Arabic language skills are a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teaching abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems.
