Nursing Manager - Doha, Qatar

A leading and highly respected healthcare provider in the State of Qatar is now accepting applications for the position of Nursing Manager at its facility in the capital city, Doha. Job Description and Responsibilities

The Nursing Manager will hold the senior leadership position responsible for the overall supervision of the nursing department and ensuring the delivery of exceptional and safe patient care. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership and Supervision: Providing administrative and professional leadership to the nursing team, including staff nurses, charge nurses, and shift supervisors. This involves mentoring, professional development, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures to ensure full compliance with local regulations (such as the Qatar Ministry of Public Health) and recognized international accreditation standards (like Joint Commission International - JCI). The successful candidate will ensure the maintenance of the highest levels of quality and safety in all care services.
  • Operational Management: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the nursing department, including human resource management (recruitment, scheduling, performance appraisal), budget and supply management, and ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Development and Training: Identifying the training needs of the nursing team and organizing continuous professional development programs to enhance their skills and knowledge. Contributing to the development of strategic work plans for the department.
  • Communication and Coordination: Acting as a key liaison between the nursing department and other facility departments (such as physicians, administration, and logistics support) to ensure the seamless integration and coordination of healthcare services.
  • Performance Improvement: Monitoring and analyzing departmental performance indicators, and implementing continuous improvement plans based on data and feedback.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this leadership opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Qualification: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) is required as a minimum. A postgraduate degree such as a Master's in Nursing Administration or Healthcare Management is highly preferred.
  • Licensing: The applicant must possess a valid nursing license from the Qatar Ministry of Public Health or be eligible to obtain one. Advanced professional certifications in the specialty are an advantage.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years of practical nursing experience, with proven experience of at least 4 to 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role (e.g., Head Nurse, Assistant Nursing Manager) within a recognized healthcare facility (hospital, large medical center).
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a large and diverse team, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) in English. Arabic language skills are a significant advantage.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of modern nursing practices, healthcare quality and accreditation standards, and Qatari health regulations.
  • Personal Attributes: High integrity, sound decision-making under pressure, proactive problem-solving skills, and a strong focus on patient service and satisfaction.
