QA/QC Engineer (Electrical)

A leading and specialized company in the Energy and Infrastructure sector within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is now accepting applications for the position of QA/QC Engineer (Electrical). This opportunity arises amidst the massive growth and giga-projects underway in the Kingdom under Vision 2030, which aims to develop vital infrastructure and a sustainable energy sector. Quality Engineers play a pivotal role in ensuring these projects are executed according to the highest international standards and best engineering practices.

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The engineer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects related to the quality of electrical works across the company's diverse projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing project-specific Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plans for electrical works, ensuring alignment with project specifications and local/international standards (e.g., SASO, IEC, IEEE, NFPA).
  • Conducting periodic and ongoing inspections of electrical works on-site, including installations, cabling, distribution systems, control systems, and protection systems.
  • Reviewing and approving incoming electrical materials and equipment (e.g., cables, transformers, switchgear, panels) to verify compliance with approved submittals and technical specifications.
  • Preparing daily and weekly inspection reports, documenting any Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and following up on corrective and preventive actions until closure.
  • Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure their adherence to specified quality plans and requirements.
  • Attending quality meetings with the project team and client, presenting updates on quality status.
  • Participating in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) for electrical systems.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations related to electrical works.

Qualifications & Requirements

To qualify for this critical role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Certifications: Possession of professional quality certifications such as (CQE, CMQ/OE) or electrical inspection certifications is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a similar role (Electrical QA/QC Engineer) within major energy, infrastructure, or industrial construction projects. Experience on projects within Saudi Arabia is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of international (IEC, IEEE) and local (SASO) electrical codes and specifications. Strong familiarity with quality control/assurance methodologies, inspection procedures, and electrical testing/measurement tools.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to work within a team and in a multicultural environment. Accuracy and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Other Requirements: Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is essential. Knowledge of Arabic will be an added advantage. The candidate must have a valid residency in Saudi Arabia or be eligible for a work visa.
