Al Naba Al Nabaa Services Company LLC is currently seeking qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyors (Civil) to join their team in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Job Description

The appointed Civil Quantity Surveyor will become an integral part of the company's dynamic team, responsible for the financial and administrative aspects of civil construction projects. Key Expected Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare initial cost estimates and detailed estimates for civil construction projects, including analysis of material, labor, and equipment quantities.
  • Contract Management: Assist in preparing and evaluating tender and contract documents, and monitor the financial terms of contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Measurement and Valuation: Measure work quantities from construction drawings and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for payment applications and contractors.
  • Financial Monitoring: Track actual costs against approved budgets, prepare cost variance reports, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Valuation and Pricing: Evaluate and validate payment applications from subcontractors and prepare payment requests for the client.
  • Change Management: Assess the cost and schedule impact of variation orders and prepare cost estimates for changes.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure financial efficiency and specification compliance.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to contract conditions, local regulations, and professional standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Holding professional certifications such as RICS or equivalent will be a strong added advantage.

Work Experience:

  • Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in a Civil Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry.
  • Experience working on infrastructure, commercial, or residential projects.
  • Strong familiarity with quantity surveying practices in the Gulf market, particularly in Oman.

Technical and Personal Skills:

  • Software Proficiency: Excellent skills in using MS Office (especially Excel), and specialized quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, or similar).
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction methods, material specifications, and building codes.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical and deductive skills with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
