Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Safety Supervisor will be stationed at a project site or industrial/construction facility, serving as the primary officer responsible for implementing and monitoring all HSE protocols. The core responsibilities expected for this role include:

• Supervision and Enforcement: Directly supervising the application of all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant Saudi Arabian and international regulations.
• Inspection and Monitoring: Conducting regular and surprise inspections of the worksite to identify potential hazards, ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and verify the safety of equipment and machinery.
• Training and Awareness: Organizing and delivering training and awareness sessions for workers and contractors on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and the use of safety equipment.
• Reporting and Investigation: Preparing detailed reports on incidents or near misses, conducting initial investigations to determine root causes, and proposing corrective and preventive actions.
• Risk Management: Participating in Risk Assessments for new jobs and equipment, and proposing risk control plans.
• Safety Meetings: Attending and leading safety committee meetings, presenting statistics and recommendations to management.
• Continuous Improvement: Periodically reviewing and updating emergency plans and safety protocols to ensure their ongoing effectiveness.

Qualifications and Key Requirements

To be a suitable candidate for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Industrial) or in the HSE field, or a certified diploma with significant experience.
• Professional Certifications: Possession of globally recognized safety certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA is highly preferred.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years of practical experience in a Safety Supervisor role, preferably within the construction, oil & gas, or heavy industries in the Middle East region, specifically in Saudi Arabia.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Saudi Arabian safety regulations and systems (e.g., Civil Defense regulations, relevant GACA standards if applicable, and related ISO standards).
• Personal Skills: Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, strong communication abilities (verbal and written) to interact with all workforce levels, and a high sense of responsibility and discipline.
• Language: Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is essential. Proficiency in Arabic is a strong added advantage.
